Antony Karabus is the Chief Executive Officer of HRC Retail Advisory. Throughout his 30-year career, he has been a trusted advisor to retail executive leaders on strategic and financial performance improvement. As an expert on creating substantial enterprise value for retail companies, he has assisted numerous retailers to achieve substantial improvements in their financial performance since 1990, in virtually every major retail sector.

Antony has a unique understanding of the impact of the most important economic levers in a Retailer’s Profit & Loss Statement and their relationship to creating economic value.

Antony began his career at Arthur Andersen in Cape Town, South Africa and moved with Andersen to North America in 1987. He subsequently launched Karabus Management in 1990. In 2008, Antony sold the firm to a Global Accounting/Consulting firm where he served as the leader of that firm’s Retail Consulting Services practice until December 2011. A year later, Antony and Farla formed HRC Retail Advisory in January 2013, together with most of the senior leaders from the Karabus Management and SD Retail consulting firms.

To keep ahead of a changing retail environment, Antony conducts proprietary research studies with retail executive leaders to determine and prioritize key value-creation priorities.

Antony received a degree in Finance and Business from the University of Cape Town, South Africa and is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA).
