Service Line / Team: Indirect Procurement / Strategic Sourcing

Level: All Levels & Experience

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with HRC team, client personnel, and third-party suppliers to achieve engagement objectives
  • Utilize business, strategic, and analytical skills to perform tasks including key items such as sourcing strategy development; financial modeling and analysis; operational process; organizational design; competitive analysis; etc.
  • Develop content and lead the preparation of high quality, refined reports, written analyses, presentations, and other client deliverables
  • Demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism, ethics, quality, and integrity
  • Utilize a pragmatic and hands-on approach to the professional services arena

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Adept at developing and conducting strategic sourcing events (e.g. RFP, Auction, Direct Negotiations), as well as constructing business cases and creating meaningful presentations for all levels of an organization
  • Indirect Procurement experience in several of the following fields: Supply Chain, Marketing, Corporate Services, IT, Building Services, Store Operations. Direct sourcing (e.g. private label) experience, a plus
  • Experience with implementation and optimization of strategic sourcing software, a plus

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or degree equivalent in Business, Accounting/Finance, Management, Engineering, Economics, Retail Management, Supply Chain, or related field. Master’s degree or MBA, a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to interact with junior and senior team members, senior management and other stakeholders or professionals
  • Expertise in financial modeling and analysis (particularly in Excel), understanding relevant elements of P&L and scenario analyses
  • Creative thinker with the ability to synthesize both qualitative (‘the art’) and quantitative (‘the science’) inputs
  • Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills with demonstrated experience in solving complex issues
  • Ability to direct and/or manage and analyze large volumes of financial and operational data
  • Desire and ability to manage processes and other staff
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to learn quickly
  • High Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • No relocation is required but weekly travel to clients is typical
  • Minimum 1-year experience, within the consumer products, retail, or management consulting industries
  • Knowledge of business intelligence technologies, is a plus

 


Service Line / Team: Store Operations

Level: All Levels & Experience

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with HRC team and client personnel to achieve engagement objectives
  • Utilize business, strategic, and analytical skills to perform tasks such as: financial modeling and analysis; operations and service strategy development, revenue growth; operational process and technology optimization; store labor planning and analysis; organizational design and competitive analysis.
  • Develop content and lead the preparation of high quality, refined reports, written analyses, presentations, and other client deliverables
  • Demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism, ethics, quality, and integrity
  • Utilize a pragmatic and hands-on approach to the professional services arena

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in Retail Store Operations Home Office, Field Leadership, and/or Retail Operations Consulting
  • Experience with developing, implementing, and/or managing store operations process standards
  • Experience with developing, implementing and/or optimizing labor budgeting and management processes and related tools

Service Line / Team: Merchandising / Planning / Inventory Management

Level: All Levels & Experience 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the HRC team and client teams to achieve the defined engagement objectives
  • Utilize experience and skills to identify, communicate and deliver pragmatic, yet innovative solutions to address the retailer’s opportunities through organizational, process and improved MP&A tool utilization
  • Work across the entire product lifecycle from Product Development to Effective Inventory Management
  • Effectively manage internal, client and external resources and the completion of project work and deliverables to deliver defined project goals
  • Provide effective communication and change management to help clients successfully realize sustainable benefits
  • Demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism, ethics, quality, and integrity
  • Utilize a pragmatic and hands-on approach to the professional services arena

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Passion for retail, for solving complex problems and for delivering measurable and sustainable results for retailers
  • Prior Merchandising and/or MP&A experience with a retailer and/or retail consulting experience
  • Experience with using and/or implementing Merchandising, Planning and/ Inventory Management tools
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of the organization including both junior and senior level team members, senior management and other stakeholders or professionals
  • Ability to effectively manage resources and project work.
  • Well-developed analytical skills with the ability to define, conduct, identify, quantify and effectively communicate insights from data and information gathered
  • Formal project management experience or certification a plus

  • Desire and ability to manage teams (internal and client side) and staff
  • The ability to lead and support clients through key process and technology changes through effective training, coaching and change management techniques
  • Minimum 2-years’ experience, within the consumer products, retail, or management consulting industries
  • Proficient use of MS Office tools; specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in Business or retail related field of study
